Students from Youth Services Agency, a local facility for troubled teens, would attend class at its Penn Forest Township site if a potential agreement with Jim Thorpe Area School District is approved.

"We are working daily on it and I can't say more than we expect it is near solved and no students will be off-site," said Roger Dawson, YSA founder.YSA previously said teens at the facility known as Camp Adams could be sent to Jim Thorpe Area High School if the district doesn't increase funding to the agency.Jim Thorpe Superintendent Brian Gasper said representatives for the district and YSA met last week and had discussions he termed "positive."If a deal falls through, as many as 70 coed students, sent to Camp Adams by the courts, may be headed the district's way, Gasper said recently.Several parents have spoken out against Camp Adams students attending Jim Thorpe at district meetings in recent months.In June, Dawson said the school district "created obstacles and barriers that hold back $98,000 YSA was to receive in state aid, thus helping to precipitate the financial issues that may prevent continued on-site school operation."Gasper, however, said the district met on Friday to "review and offer adjustments to the potential agreement.""Legal teams are reviewing the minor modifications and we are hopeful that there will be a mutual agreement in place soon. Both parties are positive and are hopeful for a resolution soon."School begins Aug. 27 in Jim Thorpe.
