Two persons were injured in a one-vehicle crash that occurred at 4:35 p.m. on Sunday along Summer Mountain Road in East Penn Township.

State police at Lehighton said Taylor J. Acciarito, 18, of Palmerton, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound and negotiating a left curve when he lost control. The car traveled off the road and struck a utility pole.Acciarito sustained a moderate injury and was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, by Lehighton ambulance. Passenger Katlynn Kresge, 14, of Palmerton, sustained a minor injury while the police report indicated passengers Anthony Papone, 16, of Avon, New York, and Cierra Stein, 16, of Palmerton, were not injured.Troopers added that Acciarito was cited for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.
