Another major performer has been added to the concert lineup at Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe.

Engelbert Humperdinck, whose hits included "Release Me" and "Am I That Easy to Forget," will make his venue debut on Sunday, Nov. 2.Tickets, which are $37 and $42, go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Saturday. They are available now to Sneak Peak Club members.Also announced was a performance by Creedence Clearwater Revisited on Friday, Feb. 27.Tickets are $42 for reserved and $47 for the PIT. They also go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m.These two shows are in addition to two other concerts recently announced: Martina McBride on Thursday, Nov. 13, and Dennis DeYoung of Styx fame on Friday, Feb. 13. Tickets for these two events go on sale Friday to the general public.Humperdinck had his greatest success in the late 1960s and early '70s. Other hits were "After the Loving," "There Goes My Everything," and "The Last Waltz."Born in Madras, India, he was one of 10 children.His family moved to Leicester, England, when he was 10. He soon showed an interest in music and began learning the saxophone. By the early 1950s he was playing saxophone in nightclubs, but he is believed not to have tried singing until he was 17, when friends coaxed him into entering a pub contest. His impression of Jerry Lewis prompted friends to begin calling him "Gerry Dorsey," a name he worked under for almost a decade.Humperdinck's easygoing style and good looks earned him a large following, particularly among women. His hardcore female fans called themselves "Humperdinckers."Creedence Clearwater Revisited is a band formed in 1995 by former Creedence Clearwater Revival members Stu Cook (bass) and Doug Clifford (drums).Creedence Clearwater Revival sold 26 million albums just in the United States. The band had such hits as "Have You Seen the Rain," "Bad Moon Rising," "Lodi," "Proud Mary," and "Suzy Q."Coming to Penn's Peak on Thursday is a concert by Yonder Mountain String Band, which has performed several times at the venue and always draws a large crowd.
