On Friday at Penn's Peak, two of the top hard rock bands from around the turn of the century will perform in concert.

Great White, which had the hit "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and Vixen, an all-girl band, will be on stage for a double-header show starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $22 in advance and $27 on the day of the concert.Great White made national headlines in 2003 when it was performing at the time The Station nightclub fire occurred in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The fire resulted in the deaths of 100 people, including the band's guitarist Ty Longley, who had been a member of Jack Russell's solo band.In 2008, the band agreed to pay $1million to survivors and victims' relatives of the fire. On the two-year anniversary of the fire, Jack Russell and Mark Kendall from Great White, along with Great White's attorney, Ed McPherson, appeared on Larry King Live with three of the victims of the fire and the father of Ty Longley, to discuss some of the healing that had taken place over the previous two years and some of the permanent scars that remained.Despite the tragedy, the love and passion for their music has never faltered. Recharged and refocused, Great White has compiled a new collection of songs that was released in the summer of 2012.Presently Great White features original members Mark Kendall (guitar), Michael Lardie (guitar, keyboards), Audie Desbrow (drums) and joined by lead singer Terry Ilous and bassist Scott Snyder the group emerged unscathed from late 2011 band member changes. Best known for the 1989 smash "Once Bitten, Twice Shy," Great White's worldwide sales are approaching 10 million. Their song arsenal also includes "Rock Me," "Save Your Love," "The Angel Song," and "Mistabone."Vixen was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota, by guitarist Jan Kuehnemund. Driven by rock star dreams, Kuehnemund packed up her group and headed for Hollywood.
