A man suspected of driving under the influence hit six parked vehicles in Lehighton Monday evening.

Scott Smale, 56, of 249 S. Third St. Lehighton, was traveling south in the 200 block of South Fourth Street at 6:30 p.m. when he lost control of his 2005 Dodge Ram.In doing so, Smale crashed into the following parked vehicles: A 1990 Chevrolet 1500, owned by Wayne Lance Miller, of 11 Bear View Drive, Jim Thorpe; a 1990 Plymouth Acclaim, owned by Donald R. Smith and Tanya Mriss, of 220 S. Fourth St. Lehighton; a 2010 GMC Canyon, owned by Timothy Haas, of 230 S. Fourth St. Lehighton; a 2004 GMC Sierra, owned by Matthew Alan Frantz, of 232 S. Fourth St, Lehighton; a 2008 Kia Spectra, owned by Linda Lee Ahner of 234 S. Fourth St. Lehighton; and a 2014 Kia Forte, owned by Terry Michael Ahner, of 234 S. Fourth St. Lehighton.Smale admitted to driving the vehicle, according to Sgt. Joseph Lawrence of the borough police department."We suspect he was under the influence of something," Lawrence said. "He was taken to the hospital for blood to be drawn, and he was released (Monday night) to a family member."Lawrence said that charges may be pending following the blood results.
