An in-depth autopsy Saturday has not yielded an answer in the death of a Tamaqua man Friday.

As a result, additional laboratory tests are underway, a process that could take weeks.Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan III said Monday that an autopsy was conducted at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by forensic pathologist Dr. Barbara Bollinger, and more information is being gathered."We're still getting toxicology to see if there were any substances on board. We're also doing microscopic examination of the tissue," Moylan said.As a result, Moylan will not yet rule on either the cause or manner of death of Jose Paulino Jr., Tamaqua, until lab test results are completed and reviewed.The lab tests, which could take weeks, will provide a clearer picture, perhaps, of what transpired Friday morning in Tamaqua when Paulino, 38, was stunned by Tamaqua police using a Taser gun.Paulino died while en route to St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus in Coaldale.According to Trooper David C. Boehm, public information officer, Troop L, Reading, the incident began about 4 a.m.Tamaqua officers were called to Fegley's Mini Mart, South Center Street, for a report of a man acting erratically, running around the parking lot shouting obscenities.When approached by officers, Paulino was said to be "noncompliant" and acting aggressively.Activity also involved the parking lot of an adjacent business, J&J Sunoco, a location where investigators appear to be focusing their attention.Tamaqua police have turned over the investigation to state police, who assigned their major case team.
