Kids Helping Kids

Students from the Panther Valley Middle School and their science teacher, Chris Powell, conducted a project that will help other

children. Powell's classes were studying recycling so they begancollecting aluminum beverage can tabs. They also wanted to see what one million of something looked like. At the end of the school year, they had reached their goal of one million tabs and donated them to the Rajah Shrine. The tabs will be added to those already collected by the Normal Square Inn to be recycled. The money gained from the recycling will be donated to the Shrine and used to cover transportation costs for children and their parents needing to go to and from Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.Pictured from left is Shriner Dwight Frey, and teachers Chris Powell and Shannon McBride.
