Developer asked to present revised plan

It's back to the drawing board for a developer who seeks to develop lots on Owl Creek Road.

During a meeting of the Tamaqua Planning Commission on Monday, the developer and the commission resolved questions both parties had about the progress of the subdivision, called the Tamarak Subdivision. In 2010,

R.G.C. Development, Bath, had presented a plan to create 27 lots on a 33-acre tract. In 2012, the planning commission had recommended conditional approval of the plan. But earlier this year,

R.G.C. presented a plan to develop eight lots from the tract. Kevin Draper of Urban Research and Development Corp., representing

R.G.C., said that the plan had been scaled back due to the financial constraints of the current economy.

R.G.C. still intends to develop the 27 lots, he said.In response, and on the advice of solicitor Michael Greek, the planning commission asked the developer to come back with an "overlay" page that presented the complete plan for the 27 lots, followed by pages which depicted the planned stages of development, beginning with the eight lots."If that's what will resolve this, that's what we'll do," Draper said. The planning commission voted to continue the matter until the July meeting.
