A Kunkletown man was given a county prison term Thursday after pleading guilty on Carbon County court to theft and resisting arrest charges.

He was one of six defendants in pending cases to enter a guilty plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.Two incidentsMatthew S. Haydt, 26, pleaded in two pending cases.He pleaded to one count of theft for an incident on Nov. 6, 2013, at 224 White St., Weissport, where he took the purse of Kelly Schroeter, which contained cash.He pleaded to resisting arrest and public drunkenness for an incident on April 14 when state police at Lehighton went to 200 N. Main Lane, Lehighton, for an altercation. On scene troopers found Haydt involved in the altercation.When police attempted to take him into custody, he fled into nearby woods. Troopers had to use a stun gun to subdue him and take him into custody. He was given a breath test which revealed a 0.22 BAC.On the theft charge Nanovic sentenced him to serve four to 18 months in the county prison with credit for 45 days already served. On the resisting count he was sentenced to serve two to 18 months in prison, concurrent with the theft charge. He was fined $500 on the public drunkenness charge.Haydt was also ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, and make restitution to Schroeter of $680.Other pleasOther defendants who entered pleas included:Jesse L. Hackman, 20, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of theft.He admitted his part in the entry to the Boulevard Restaurant, along Blakeslee Blvd., Lehighton, and taking cash. He was a former employee of the restaurant.Hackman was previously placed in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program for first-time offenders but was revoked for not paying all court costs.Nanovic placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a D&A evaluation. The term runs consecutive to a probation period he is currently serving on other charges. It was also noted the cash taken in the restaurant entry had already been repaid.Jean D. Pillion, 46, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count of simple assault.She admitted assaulting Bislin Kraskigl, at Johnnie's Restaurant, N. First St., Lehighton, on April 2. There were prior problems between the two, it was noted.Pillion said she was "very, very sorry" for what she did.Nanovic placed her on probation for two years and ordered her to get both a D&A and mental health evaluations, and have no contact with the victim.Justen Calvin Neff, 34. of Lehighton, pleaded guilty in three pending cases.He pleaded to one count of theft for an incident on March 9 in which he admitted taking a iPad Touch of Randi Gressler, 216 S. First St., Lehighton; one count of theft for an incident on March 12, at the BoBo Garden restaurant along Blakeslee Boulevard, in Lehighton, in which he took a tip jar; and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia for an incident on March 11 in the area of 314 S. Second St., Lehighton.Neff is currently in the Lehigh County prison facing a probation violation charge.Nanovic imposed a prison term of three to 12 months on each count, all running concurrently. He was also ordered to make restitution of $20 for the theft of the tip jar. The iPad was reportedly recovered.Colin M. Batarick, 28, of Walnutport, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Oct. 24, 2013, in the area of routes 443 and 209 in Lehighton, following a traffic stop. He was a passenger in the vehicle and was found to have the paraphernalia.Nanovic placed him on probation for six months and ordered he pay a fine of $500, and get a D&A evaluation.Eric Siegel, 52, of Lehighton, pleaded to one count each of possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.He was arrested on Oct. 18, 2013, by Lehighton police following an incident along Blakeslee Blvd. He was originally charged with driving under the influence, but that charge was dropped.On the paraphernalia charge he was placed on probation for three months and ordered to get a D&A evaluation. On the possession count he was fined $500.Each defendant must also pay court costs, which average about $1,000, and pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
