Adam Nevenglosky, 17, attained the rank of Eagle Scout recently at a Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout Court of Honor held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning.

Nevenglosky is a junior at Panther Valley High School. His parents are Robert and Debbie Nevenglosky. The family lives in Nesquehoning.He has been involved in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for 11 years and has earned 28 Scouting badges and has reached Brotherhood Rank in the Order of the Arrow. He has served Troop 744 as Patrol Leader, Guide, and Scribe.For his Eagle Scout service project Nevenglosky cleaned, repaired and painted the bathrooms and grove areas for the Nesquehoning Hose Company #1.The Eagle Award was presented by Troop 744 Scoutmaster Chris Santore."The highest rank in Scouting is the rank of Eagle," said Santore. "We are very pleased that Adam will be celebrating that accomplishment with us."Invocation at the Court of Honor was given by the Rev. Francis Schoenauer, pastor at St. Francis of Assisi Church.The Scout Emblem was presented by Joe Trimmel. The Scout Laws were presented by Scout Troop 744.The Trail to Eagle was presented by Eagle Scout Ryan Applegate. The Eagle Scout Charge was presented by Eagle Scout Scott Nevenglosky, Adam's brother.The Neckerchief Change was done by his mother and Betty Lopata, his grandmother.The Uniformed Little Boy was done by his mother and Diane Rakos, his godmother.After the Eagle Award was given presentations and remarks were made by state Rep. Doyle Heffley and Carbon County Commissioners Tom Gerhard, Wayne Nothstein and William O'Gurek.Presentations were made by the Sons of the American Revolution and Nesquehoning Hose Company #1.Presentations were also made by Nesquehoning Councilmember Mary Fox on behalf of the council, and Nesquehoning Mayor Samuel Kitchko. Commissioner O'Gurek also made a presentation on behalf of state Sen. John Yudichak.Nevenglosky is a member of the National Honor Society, Audio Visual Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. He is on the track and field team. He also serves as newspaper and yearbook assistant editor.He is a junior member of both the fire company and Nesquehoning Ambulance Corps. He is also taking courses for the Fire Essentials Certification for the fire company.After high school, Nevenglosky wishes to study computer security programming at college.Nevenglosky thanked his parents, brother, family, fellow Scouts and leaders for all of their support.
