A Tamaqua man has been cited for illegally passing a school bus.

On April 7, at 3:43 p.m. a school bus filled with students from the Tamaqua Area School District was stopped near Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets with its red lights flashing and the stop sign extended. As students were exiting the bus a male driving a white Ford Explorer drove around the bus, putting the children and parents waiting for the students, at risk.The driver was identified as Anthony Napolitano, 29, of 411 E. Broad St. He was identified by the bus driver, a parent witness and his own child, who was one of the occupants on the bus.Napolitano was cited for driving with a suspended license and for illegally passing a school bus.
