The Eastern Schuylkill Recreation Commission (ESRC) winter basketball league featured a wild night of basketball on Wednesday as three teams advanced into next week's semifinals.

Batter's Box-Golden Spike InnIn a hard-fought battle, Golden Spike advanced into next week's semifinals with a 61-60 double overtime victory over Batter's Box.In the second overtime, Chris Decker gave Golden Spike Inn a one-point lead (61-60) with two made free throws in the waning seconds and a last second three-point attempt by Batter's Box was off the mark as time expired.Jim Barron lead Golden Spike in with a game-high 28 points, including four three-pointers.For Batter's Box, Erick Trabal and Bekim Mehmeti scored 11 points apiece.Vesuvio's-Stan Graver'sIn a game that featured plenty of offense and very little defense, Vesuvio's outscored Stan Graver's 98-93 to move into next week's semifinals. The game marked the first time in ESRC history that both teams scored 90 or more points in the same game.Vesuvio's, playing with only four players received huge contributions from Joe Madochick and Dan Maguschak. Madochick scored 39 points and buried seven three-pointers, while Maguschak tallied 33 points and drained seven treys. Carlos Rivas also factored in with 22 points of his own.For Stan Graver's, Anthony Roman scored 25 points with five treys, while J.R. Graver netted 21 points and five triples. Jeremy Kunkel and Nate Phillips added 18 points apiece.Joey B's-Lucky's DeliJoey B's handled Lucky's Deli, 56-46.Tom Kresge was just too much for Lucky's Deli, as he led Joey B's with 24 points, while shooting 10-of-12 from the free throw line.
