State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating an impersonation of a public servant (police officer) incident. The incident was reported by a female to have occurred about 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, along Route 61, a tenth of a mile north of Penn Street, in West Brunswick Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said the female reported she was southbound when she saw a vehicle approaching with red and white lights on the roof. She pulled over to the side of the road and the operator of the other vehicle followed and approached her.He inferred he was a police officer and requested to see her driver's license and related credentials. He then told the victim he pulled her over because she was flicking cigarette ashes out her window. He then told her he was giving her a warning for littering, got back into his vehicle, made a U-turn and went northbound.At no time did the impersonator attempt to lure the victim to another location or take her into custody, troopers said.The suspect was described as being a hispanic male, in his late 40s, about six-feet, three or four inches tall, medium to muscular build, with bald/clean shaven head, no facial hair, and wearing blue jeans and a black T-shirt.The suspect vehicle was a black or dark blue newer model sport utility vehicle, possibly a Ford Explorer, with a red and white lightbar spanning the roof.Anyone with information concerning this incident or the person or vehicle described, is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.
