At least three people were injured in a three-car collision this afternoon on Route 248 near Bowmanstown.

The incident happened in Lower Towamensing Township at the intersection of Club Road shortly before 2 o'clock.

State Police from Lehighton investigated, but the names of those involved were not immediately available.

All four lanes of Route 248 were closed for more than an hour.

All three vehicles were demolished.

One of the injured required extrication by members of the Lower Towamensing Fire Department.
