Snow, rain, more snow in Wednesday forecast

Just when we were starting to get rid of snow piles, the National Weather Service is calling for another round.

 An area of low pressure will move across the area Wednesday into Wednesday night, bringing a wintry mix across the area. The wintry mix could start before daybreak Wednesday and continue into midday, before a possible change over to rain. Precipitation is then expected to change back to snow by Wednesday evening, before tapering off overnight. Some accumulating snow is possible Wednesday night. The forecast for the next few days:

Today: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 47. West wind around 10 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph.

Tuesday Night: A slight chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Wednesday: Showers, mainly after 8am. High near 41. Northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Rain and snow showers, becoming all snow after 9pm. Low around 17. Blustery. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Thursday: A chance of snow showers before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 27. Windy. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
