The Valley Flower, Garden and Pool Show opens Friday, March 7 and runs through Sunday, March 9 at Agricultural Hall, Allentown Fairgrounds, 17th & Chew streets, Allentown.

Friday and Saturday, hours are 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.; and Sunday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.Over 45 artisans and vendors will be on hand to answer questions, including Edge of the Woods Native Plant Nursery, which is promoting "Less Lawn Less Labor. More Natives More Nature." Learn how you can have four seasons of outdoor living which promotes the intricate "web of life" created by native organisms such as plants mammals, birds, and insects.With the loss of open space and certain native plants from the landscape, the insects and birds that are provided that food source may be eradicated.By diversifying landscapes and yards, we can help maintain that biodiversity and provide healthy balanced ecosystems, which clean our air and water as well as provide pollination for our food sources.During the event there will be speakers each day covering such topics as flower arranging, extending the vegetable growing season and pruning, as well as activities for children.There is a fee to attend, but there is plenty of free parking.For more information visit valleyflowershow.com or call Laurie Wuchter at 610-4328425 or Rick Tilley at 610-282-4784.
