101 Days of School Celebration takes place at St. John Neumann

Dalmatians for a day.

That is precisely how kindergarten and first-grade pupils came dressed to St. John Neumann Regional School's Slatington campus as part of its 101 Days of School celebration. The theme, planned by instructors Mary Hartz and Jess Yorke, was a collaboration between kindergarten and first grade. In addition to the pupils, both Hartz and Yorke also dressed up as Dalmatians. As part of the celebration, pupils participated in various activities, Hartz said.Among them were a 101 Days coloring sheet; reading a paragraph that contained 101 colorful letters; barking for 101 seconds; hopping for 101 seconds; being quiet for 101 seconds; doing jumping jacks for 101 seconds; clapping for 101 seconds; counting to 101; taking 101 steps; finding 101 paw prints; and making 101 spots on a Dalmatian."Any class can celebrate 100 Days of School, but we are too cool for that; we are going to celebrate 101 Days of School," Hartz said."How are we going to do this? Why the only way we know how; we are celebrating Dalmatian style."Last year, pupils celebrated the school's kindergarten program, which turned 100 years old.To mark that occasion, pupils, and Hartz, turned 100 years old for the day, and participated in activities built around the number 100.The school's Slatington campus houses students in grades K-3, while its Palmerton campus houses students grades 4-8.
