LehightonIt started with a smile ... I met my future husband on a blind date. My girlfriend asked me to go along with her and her boyfriend on a blind date. They met us at my house and when I saw the guy who was going to be my date, my heart skipped a beat, well maybe many beats.There he was; the man of my dreams smiling at me. We were introduced and from that moment on I knew I was going to marry him.He was funny, friendly, kind and so easy to talk to.Well after many many dates and him finally realizing I was the girl for him (which I knew all along) he proposed in a very special way.It was my birthday and he told me he wanted to get an ice cream cake for my birthday, so I waited in the car and he brought it out.He said, "Well, why don't you look at it?"So I opened the box and there on the ice cream cake were the words "Will you marry me?"I was so happy! I said yes of course! Later he told me that if I would have said no, at least he would still have an ice cream cake to eat!!!We have been through many ups and downs in our life, from deaths in the family, health problems, job losses, but we have always gotten through it. My husband is sweet and kind and loving and my best friend. I love that I can be myself when I'm around him.From that first smile ... we created a beautiful life together!We will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary this year on Feb. 24.
