Tamaqua Borough Water Authority officials are on the scene of a water main break in the heavily traveled unit block of Mauch Chunk Street, the main artery for motorists traveling north towards Hometown.

Traffic is being re-routed along East Broad to Pine Street, causing traffic jams.

No other information on when the break will be fixed or which parts of town are affected has been released at this time.
