'Outlander' stars attend L.A. premiere

Caitriona Balfe, left, and Sam Heughan arrive at the Starz "Black Sails" Premiere Wednesday in Los Angeles. The Irish actress and Scottish actor are currently on hiatus from filming "Outlander," a Starz original series that will premiere later this year. The series, adapted from Diana Gabaldon's internationally best-selling books, tells the story of a married World War II combat nurse, played by Balfe, who accidentally steps through a cleft in a circle of standing stones and finds herself transported back in time to 1743 Scotland. With her life in danger, she is forced to marry a chivalrous and romantic Scottish warrior, played by Heughan. The highly anticipated series, which is being filmed in Scotland, resumes production next month. Ronald D. Moore, ("Battlestar Galactica," "Star Trek," "Helix") is the executive producer.
