Weissport sells off old gas masks with the help of a local business

Weissport Police Chief Steve Armbruster explained to Weissport Council members on Monday night that he does not use the lap top computer that belongs to the police department because he is more comfortable using the office computer to compile reports after arrests.

Armbruster told council that he is returning the laptop to council because he would rather use MetroAlert Service, which helps compute crime statistics and allows him to search warrants.Armbruster reported that he was able to have Drumbore Sales of Franklin Township assist with selling the gas masks. Armbruster said that the gas masks sold for $100 each for a total of $300.He also noted that Drumbore was offering in store credit or a refund. He noted that he will be purchasing ammunition for practice next month. Council instructed him to purchase ammunition he needed and to get a refund for the remaining funds.Armbruster then noted that he found crime scene investigation equipment that he will not be using and asked for permission to sell it. He said he needs to research its value.
