Residents digging out from 8 inches of snow

Snow stopped falling shortly after 4 a.m. this morning and now it's time to shovel out.

Don't wait too much longer. It's only going to get colder.The coldest weather in several years will be arriving by tonight and temperatures are expected to fall below zero.This is after a pesky snowstorm dumped between 6 to 10 inches of snow throughout the region.Readers reported 7 inches of snow in Lansford, 10-plus inches in Towamensing Trails, Albrightsville/Penn Forest Township and 8 inches in south Tamaqua, with drifts above 2 1/2 feet.Roads throughout the region are snow covered, with some drifting occuring in open areas.Road crews are busy working and no problems have been reported.For the complete report, see the print edition of the Times News
