Tamaqua police responded to a call about a male entering cars on Rowe Street on June 26, and ended up taking Anthony Louis Kehl, 44, of 27 Tuscarora Mountain Road, Rush Township, into custody.

A Rowe Street resident called police at 2:14 a.m. to report someone was breaking into cars and the incident had been captured on surveillance video.Officers responded and found Kehl, fitting the description given. He was taken to the police station where a records check determined he was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued by the Berks County Sheriff's Department.Kehl was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville, to await transfer to Berks County.Tamaqua police will be filing charges in connection with the thefts.
