The Wilkes-Barre enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted compliance checks at licensed establishments in Carbon County. The checks were conducted between 5 and 11 p.m. Friday.

Compliance checks consist of using supervised underage buyers in an attempt to purchase alcoholic beverages.On this detail, five licensed establishments were checked, with two in noncompliance, meaning they served the underage buyer alcoholic beverages.The three establishments that were in compliance, or did not sell to the underage buyers were Denithorne Brothers Inc., trading as Trainer's Inn, Franklin Township; In the Mix at Narrow Valley Inc., trading as Mix Pub, Nesquehoning; and Jockey's Cafe Inc., trading as Jockey's Cafe, Tresckow, Banks Township.
