Mother, son cited dog law violation

Published January 15. 2014 05:00PM

Tamaqua police have cited Justin Frable, 21, of 21 W. Spruce St., Tamaqua, and his mother, Tammy Frable, 51, of 12 W. Spruce St., Tamaqua, following an incident on Penn Street on Jan. 6.

Officers were called to Penn Street at 6 p.m. for a report of two male pit bull dogs running loose. One of the dogs reportedly jumped on a child.

Mayor Christian Morrison was in the area and was able to follow the dogs to North Cherry Street. At that time Justin Frable came forward to claim one of the dogs, saying the other was owned by his mother, Tammy.

He told the officers the dogs had been in the back yard but were able to escape due to a problem with the fence.

Both Frables were given nontraffic citations for allowing their dogs to run loose.
