Crews recently began façade work on several buildings in Tamaqua’s downtown that were damaged by an October 2022 fire. The Tamaqua Area Community Partnership, which successfully applied for a Local Share Account grant, is managing the project that includes 115-119 W. Broad St. The approximate $80,000 grant is from a state program that distributes gaming revenue to projects that support community and economic development. The partnership will work with the borough and property owners to complete the work. Six buildings were damaged in the fire, including a Chinese restaurant, bike shop and apartment buildings.
