Justin Estacio, a distinguished student in the 10th grade at Jim Thorpe Area High School has been selected as a student ambassador for the People to People program. A selected student must have a high grade-point average and is chosen by their school.

The trip is a 17-day stay in hotels and with host parents. Justin will be traveling to Europe with stops in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. To earn that money Justin has been holding a Puerto Rican-Dominican meal sale each month at Meed's United Methodist Church in Nesquehoning.The meal includes a selection of two types of rice with baked chicken or pork, or beef patties called Empanados.Justin's mother Elaine Rodrigues and grandmother Evelyn Rolan are helping with the project, hoping to earn enough money for the trip. The next meal sale is Jan. 17 at the church on West Catawissa Street.He has been busy not only with the meals but with bake sales, playing the role of Santa Claus, and snow shoveling to earn more money. Before living in Jim Thorpe, Justin and his family resided in Nesquehoning.
