A domestic incident in McAdoo on Sunday landed a newlywed in jail.
Officers were dispatched to 143 N. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo at 2:43 a.m. for a domestic incident in progress. Loud screaming and banging could be heard coming from the home. When Patrolman Steven Homanko knocked on the door, he heard a male voice telling someone that police had arrived and they should watch "what I do." The male opened the door and began cursing, then bumped the officer's chest and attempted to butt him in the head. He was known to Homanko as Michael Tracy, 27, of 18 E. Market St., Treskow.Tracy appeared to be highly intoxicated and began to struggle with the officer. Once he was handcuffed, a woman in the home, identified as Crystal Stelmack, told the officer she and Tracy had just been married and he had a "little too much to drink."Various items, including furniture, appeared to have been tossed around the house, according to the police report.As Tracy was being arrested, he banged his head off a door, threatened to kill the officer and banged his head off the police cruiser window. He was transported to Hazleton General Hospital, where he was treated, then released to police.He was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated assault on law enforcement personnel, making terroristic threats, institutional vandalism, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and harassment.Bail was set at $50,000 straight cash bond, which Tracy was unable to post. He was incarcerated in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville.
