Sues over crash

State Farm Mutual Automobile insurance Company, as subrogee of Kristen Lapierre, Bloomington, Ill., has filed a civil action against Liberty Transportation Inc., Greensburg, and Harry Figueroa and Troy Weil, both of Allentown, seeking judgment in the amount of $17,242.10 over damages caused in a motor vehicle accident.The suit contends Lapierre was the operator of a 2013 Kia motor vehicle insured by State Farm that was damaged in a crash on May 29, 2013, in which an International 4900 BT 466E truck, owned by Liberty and Figueroa and driven by Weil, caused the crash.The plaintiff contends Weil merged the vehicle onto State Route. 248 in Bowmanstown, striking the Kia and causing the damages in the above-listed amount.State Farm says it has paid the property damages and other damages and is seeking reimbursement, which includes the plaintiff's deductible, interest and costs of the suit.Quiet title actionThe Northeast Investment Group Inc., 1933 State Route. 903, Jim Thorpe, has filed a quiet title action against Damon Skrimcovsky, 50 E. Abbott St., Lansford, and Elijah Skrimcovsky, 223 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe.The plaintiff states it became owner of a property located at 914 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, by virtue of a purchase made at a Carbon County Tax Claim Bureau sale. It is seeking final judgment by the court declaring it the legal owner of the property and enjoining the defendants from any and all claims to it.Credit defaultPortfolio Recovery Associates LLC, Norfolk, Va., has filed a civil action against Sheri Wilson, 199 Pinewood Road, Lehighton, alleging credit default.The suit contends Wilson was indebted to G.E. Capital Retail Bank/Old Navy on Jan. 19, 2009, and has failed to make payment on the account that has a remaining balance of $7,864.64. Portfolio is seeking judgment in that amount, plus the costs of the suit and other relief as the court deems just and reasonable.Utility seeksjudgmentPPL Electric Utilities Corporation Allentown, has filed a civil action against Adam J. Coleman, 234 W. Kline Ave., Lansford, seeking to be made whole for damages and costs it incurred as a result of an automobile accident.The suit contends on Dec. 21, 2011, Coleman was operating a vehicle that struck and damaged overhead facilities owned by the plaintiff in the vicinity of 158 E. White Bear Drive, Summit Hill.The utility is seeking judgment in the amount of $8,523.28, plus costs, interest, punitive damages and delay damages.Mortgage foreclosureThe Bank of America N.A., Simi Valley, Calif., has filed a mortgage foreclosure complaint against Katherine E. McGrath, 151 Snow Ridge Village, a/k/a 151 Mill Run, Lake Harmony, over a property at that address.The suit alleges the plaintiff is in default as of Oct. 1, 2012.Sought is judgment in the amount of $512,604.19, plus interest, costs of the suit and attorney's fees.
