During a meeting Thursday, the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce welcomed new board members and set dates for 2014 events.

The new board members are Tom Banditelli, Rich Shupp, Gar Thomas, Major Sharon Whispell, Jack Kulp and Linda Marchalk."The Chamber of Commerce is member based and benefits its members," said executive director Linda Yulanavage."We need more volunteers, people who will pitch in to help us be successful."The board set dates for one late 2013 event and several in 2014:• Dec. 17: Mixer at Vonz Restaurant at the Tamaqua Train Station, hosted by Vonz, the Chamber and WMGH Radio Station, starts at 5:30 p.m.• April 5: Fishing Derby.• Sept. 10: Golf Tournament at Mountain Valley Golf Course.Chamber members Kerry Lasky and Doug Betz, both of WMGH Radio, will be organizing six breakfasts and six evening mixers in 2014.
