The band, celebrating its 43rd anniversary, makes a return visit to Penn's Peak at 8 p.m. Saturday.A large number of tickets have already been sold for this concert. Tickets are available for just $35 and $40.Buckley, Bunnell, and Peek met in high school in London in the late 1960's. The band enjoyed massive success very early in their career, garnering the trio a Grammy for Best New Artist in 1972. "A Horse With No Name," their signature song, made America a household name in 1972.Just a little more than a year later, Beckley, Bunnell and Peek were superstars riding the airwaves of their rock, pop, folk genre musical stew.When talking about the America sound, Beckley says, "I think that the ingredients of the America sound are the basic fundamentals that translate internationally."Some of their best-known tunes besides "Horse With No Name" include "I Need You," "Ventura Highway," "Tin Man" and "Sister Golden Hair."They have six certified gold and/or platinum albums and their first greatest hits collection, History, has hit 4 million in sales.Meanwhile, three new concerts have been added to the Penn's Peak schedule.They are Travis Tritt on Dec. 6, Phil Vassar on Jan. 11, and Fran Cosmo, former lead singer of Boston, on Feb. 1.Tritt and Vassar have previously performed at Penn's Peak.Tritt, a country superstar, has had such hits as "Country Club," "Can I Trust You With My Heart," "Tell Me I Was Dreaming," and the heart-wretching ballad, "Anymore."Vassar, also a country performer, had hits with the songs "Just Another Day in Paradise," "Carlene," and "Last Day of My Life."He is also an accomplished song writher, having co-written singles for several country artists, including Tim McGraw ("For a Little While", "My Next Thirty Years"), Jo Dee Messina ("Bye, Bye", "I'm Alright"), Collin Raye ("Little Red Rodeo"), and Alan Jackson ("Right on the Money").Boston is a rock band from Boston, Mass. that achieved its most notable successes during the 1970s and 1980s.
