A Lansford resident was cited on two consecutive days of driving under the influence of drugs and received a prison sentence imposed by Judge Charles M. Miller in Schuylkill County court after entering guilty pleas to the charges. Ten others who also entered guilty pleas were sentenced.

Jacob M. Sabol, 24, of 215 E. Patterson St., was sentenced to serve 144 hours to 12 months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 9 a.m., fined $2,000, pay $200 to Substance Abuse Education fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $100 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, a $920 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend alcohol highway safety school, perform 20 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 24 months.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he will have to serve an additional 12 months probation. Sabol was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Joseph Duarte, along Route 309 south of Taggertsville last Nov. 17 and by Rush Township Patrolman Bradley John Hess, when he was found sleeping in a car on Claremont Avenue last Nov. 8.Other pleasReuben R. Hartzell, 52,of 8 Miller Lane, Tamaqua, altered, forged documents and plates, placed on probation 12 months, and pay $50 to CJEA. On a charge of failing to have car insurance was fined $300; and driving while license suspended was fined $200 plus $100 costs. Hartzell was cited by Rush Patrolman Adam Sinton.Dion James Hess, 44,of 1466 State Road, Zion Grove, North Union Township, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 9 a.m., fined $1,000, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to Catastrophe fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to SMC, attend alcohol highway safe driving school, receive outpatient treatment, perform 10 hours community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months. On a charge of careless driving was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Hess was cited by Ringtown Patrolman Adam Benodin Jr.Robert C. Wagner Jr., 50, of 36 E. Grant St., McAdoo, DUI of alcohol, was sentenced to serve 10 days in the county prison beginning Friday, Nov. 1, followed by five months and 20 days on probation in the Intermediate Punishment Program including130 days under house arrest with electronic monitoring and a pay a $12 daily fee. He was fined $750, pay $100 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to SMC, attend safety school, driver's license suspended 12 months and install ignition interlock device. Wagner was cited by Trooper Timothy Keating when stopped on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.Richard John Padora, 29,of 2 E. Railroad St., Nesquehoning, DUI of alcohol, three counts of recklessly endangering another person, failing to yield in a construction zone, failing to obey traffic control device, disregarding a traffic lane, reckless driving, backed up vehicle improperly. Judge Miller deferred sentence pending further direction by the Schuylkill County District Attorney. Padora was cited by Trooper Melissa Kyper when stoped on I81 in Ryan Township after knocking over several roadway barriers.Michael Richard Harwick Sr., 41, Saint Clair, retail theft, sentenced to serve three to 11 months under house arrest with electronic monitoring and pay a $12 daily fee, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $224.13 Walmart Store, Saint Clair.On a charge of criminal conspiracy was given a concurrent 11 months probation sentence. He was cited by Patrolman Michael H. Sterner. On a charge brought by Port Carbon Officer Joseph C. Ferraro, of passing a bad check to Quality Discount Heating Oil Company, was given a concurrent 12 months probation sentence, pay $50 to CJEA, and make restitution of $554.85 to the victim.Each defendant sentenced must also pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
