A Schuylkill County man is facing charges as the result of a domestic incident.

State police at Frackville said Joseph John Bernitsky, 50, of Evan St., New Philadelphia, has been charged with simple assault - domestic violence, and harassment, for an incident that occurred about 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at his residence.Bernitsky and a female, whose name was withheld by troopers, got involved in an argument at the residence. Bernitsky allegedly choked the female and struck her in the back of the head, then dragged her across a living room floor and choked her again.Bernitsky was arraigned before a district judge who set bail at $10,000, 10 percent. The female refused medical treatment, troopers said.
