Writers group

Greater Lehigh Valley Writers Group (GLVWG) will meet at 10 a.m., Oct. 26, at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Area Public Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer Township.

After the business program, there will be a Talent Tables segment. Members with expertise in certain relevant areas (editing, illustration, creating book trailers, web design, and more) will meet with other members to share experiences. For more information, see

http://glvwg.org/Talent%20Tables.htm.During the morning program, GLVWG members dressed in costumes will read from their work, some of which will be relative to the season, such as paranormal, mystery, or horror. Attendees are welcome to come in costume and there will be an open mic session as well.The afternoon workshop, The Real Unreal: How to use Paranormal Reports to "Chill" Your Tales and Keep Readers Turning the Page, will be presented by multi-published author Katherine Ramsland. She will discuss her work with "paranormal forensics" to demonstrate and guide attendees in researching and blending what people actually say about paranormal experiences. Add an edge to your stories with creepies and beasties, or just come for an afternoon of Halloween fun.Ramsland teaches forensic psychology at DeSales University and has published 47 books and more than 1,000 articles. She wrote Bethlehem Ghosts, Ghost: Investigating the Other Side, The Science of Vampires, Blood and Ghosts: Paranormal Forensics Investigators, and two novels that incorporate it all.The morning program is free and open to the public.
