Golden AgersThe Sept. 23 meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers began with prayer and the singing of the club song. New members were welcomed.Sign-ups are now being taken for the annual Christmas party to take place beginning at 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 1. The last day to sign up is Nov. 12. For more information, contact Irene Hudasky.The next meeting will begin at 12:45 p.m. Oct. 14 at St. John's Slovak Lutheran Church Social Hall in Lansford. The speaker will be Tina Burns who will speak on understanding medical bills. Bingo is scheduled to be played.A Halloween dress-up party is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 28.The hospitality committee for November and December is Shirley Pavlick and Betty Marek.The Panther Valley Golden Agers meet every second and fourth Mondays of the month.NesquehoningHalloween Kiddie BingoA Halloween Kiddie Bingo will take place at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center on Sunday, Oct. 20. Doors open at noon and games start at 1 p.m.The kitchen will be open.Children's Halloween partyThe Nesquehoning Recreation Center will host a children's Halloween party at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Children 10 years old or younger residing in Nesquehoning are encouraged to attend.Sign-ups are Wednesday evenings between 5-10 p.m. during Bingo. Children must be signed up no later than Oct. 22.St. Paul'sSunday school at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 123 W. White St., Summit Hill, begins at 9 a.m. each week. Worship service is held at 10:30 a.m. with Vicar David Lembo presiding. All are welcome to attend.The Worship and Music committee will meet immediately following this week's worship service.A scavenger hunt will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 13. Everyone, young, old and in-between, are invited to participate. Donations of light refreshments will be appreciated for after the hunt.
