Bears third at MVC golf championships

Pleasant Valley finished in third place at the Mountain Valley Conference Golf Championships on Thursday.

GOLFMVC ChampionshipStroudsburg's Evan Choy finished with a 1-over-par 73 to capture his second straight Mountain Valley Conference individual title and lead the Mounties to their eighth consecutive team title.Stroudsburg swept the first four spots as Eric Balcik and Cormac Salmon finished tied for second with 79s and Brian Frey shot an 80 on the par-72 Glen Brook Golf Course.Pleasant Valley's Cody Scully was the top local finisher with an 85. The Bears' Ryan Adamonis shot an 87. For Lehighton, Jordan Knappenberger was low man with an 88.Stroudsburg had a team score of 479.
