School packets

Hess Windows and Doors, 56 Mauch Chunk St., will be providing area students with a free packet of school supplies, beginning Aug. 13.Students in kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible to receive a free packet, which will include pencils, notebooks, crayons, tissues, hand sanitizer and glue sticks, as well as several other items. Students must be accompanied by an adult and there is a limit of one packet per child.Just stop by Hess Windows, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, while supplies last.Cross country teamsThe Tamaqua Cross Country Boosters are calling all team alumni to participate in a picnic and 5K Fun Run on Aug. 18. The morning practices are held at 9 a.m. for runners in grades 9-12.
