Big Bad Musical is showing at Tamaqua Community Arts Center

The Tamaqua Area Community Theatre (TACT) is presenting its musical performance of Big Bad Musical this weekend and next at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center.

Directed by Kevin Killian, the comical musical show will feature 17 local performers between the ages of 6 and 22, involved in a trial in fairytale world.Some characters represented will be Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma Hood, Three Little Pigs, Shepherd with the Boy Who Cried Wolf, Evil Stepmother, Fairy Godmother and so on."This musical has it all minimal set and costume requirements; a good balance of stage time for each character; multiple endings to make every performance unique; and Bill Francoeur's toe-tapping tunes," said Killian.The script is by Alex Strum, with music and lyrics by Francoeur."Our shows are all about entertainment and education," said Zane Bachert, artistic director, TACT. "In less than eight months, our theater group has grown from two to 18 performers."Friday and Saturday show dates and times are Aug. 16, and 17 at 7 p.m. and Aug. 17 at 2 p.m.The show will be at TACT's official home at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine St. in Tamaqua.
