John Kane, 36, of Jim Thorpe, will spend time in jail after he posted naked photos of a woman from Lower Merion County on pornographic websites after their relationship ended.

Kane was sentenced in Montgomery County Court last week to 2-23 months in the county jail, to be followed by three years probation.He pleaded guilty to charges of identity theft, obscene and other sexual materials, and stalking in connection with incidents that occurred in 2011. Kane will serve the minimum sentence over the course of 20 consecutive three-day periods beginning Aug. 11.He will spend every Sunday through Tuesday for the next 20 weeks behind bars. Kane was ordered to forfeit his computer to authorities and to have no contact with the Lower Merion woman he victimized.Lower Merion authorities investigated the case after his ex-girlfriend contacted them in May 2011 and told them she had learned that naked photos of her had been posted online without her permission.Kane and the woman had a relationship over the previous six years. The woman, according to court documents, allowed Kane to use his cell phone to take naked photos of her during the course of their relationship.The woman went on to tell police that an unknown person informed her by email that someone was giving out her name and email address and posing as her on Internet chat rooms. The woman told police that she contacted Kane and he admitted to posting the material.
