Santa Claus in shorts bright red Bermuda shorts, no less homemade Christmas cookies, brightly wrapped gift packages galore and a fun-filled sing-along that featured Christmas carols.

Those were the highlights of the 14th annual Christmas in July celebration, hosted by the Social Ministry members of Lehighton's Trinity Lutheran Church.This year's event was held at the Mahoning Valley Nursing, Retirement and Rehabilitation Center and involved 140 residents of the center and nearly 100 friends, family members and ministry volunteers.
