Two rescued from quarry

SLATINGTON, Pa. (AP) - Emergency crews have rescued two people who slid down a 65-foot slate bank while trespassing at an eastern Pennsylvania quarry.

Lehigh County officials say it happened Sunday afternoon at the quarry in Slatington.Four people had been hiking in the quarry when two of them slid down a slate bank. Authorities say they had to use special equipment to pull them out of the water and that the two were lucky to escape with only a few bumps and bruises.All four are being charged with trespassing.
