During a meeting Tuesday the Tamaqua Area School Board hired new teachers for the 2013-14 school year:

Elementary teachers which were hired are:Kailee Fowler, Mahanoy City; Alexa Jones, Tamaqua; Justine Hosler, Lehighton; and Linda Lutz, Bellefonte.Special Education teachers hired were Jessica Mazaika, McAdoo; Amanda Peters, Tamaqua; Jessica Rice, Summit Hill; and Amanda Peel, Hazleton.Hired as substitute teachers were Nicole Kohler, Auburn; Katherine Allen, Palmerton; Laura Bivone, Jim Thorpe; Brianna Kramer, Drums; and Danielle Zimmerman, Schuylkill Haven.The board also hired Adrian Drum, as high school Drama Club advisor.Judy Postupack, Tamaqua, was hired as a full-time paraprofessional. Celeste Franko, Tamaqua, was hired as a one-year, long-term substitute.Part-time paraprofessionals approved by the board were: Susan Coombe, Tamaqua; Pamela Dumond, Tamaqua; Ann Rolko, Tamaqua; Beverly Galasso, Lehighton; Jennifer Kupetz, Tamaqua; Charlene Lynn, Summit Hill; and Gretchen Steigerwalt, Tamaqua.Substitute paraprofessionals were Christine Baldassano, Jim Thorpe; Matthew DeAngelo, Conyngham; Karissa Evans, Cressona; Katherine Allen, Palmerton; Laura Bivone, Jim Thorpe; Brianna Kramer, Drums; and Danielle Zimmerman, Schuylkill Haven.
