A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 11:32 p.m. on Friday, July 12, along Long Stretch Road, in the area of Pine Grove Township building.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Simone Smith, 24, of Tremont, was driving a 2001 Toyota Rav4, northbound when, for unknown reasons, she pulled into the parking lot of the township building. When she decided to leave, she was unaware of a wall separating the building from the recycling bins. The Rav4 traveled off the wall and rolled onto the driver's side.Troopers said Smith was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then placed under arrest and transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for a blood test.The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.
