Yesterday morning, the first train passed over the new bridge of the Lehigh and New England RR at Lehigh Gap.

The train was carrying on it a party of leading officials who inspected every inch of the 32.1 mile extension from Danielsville to Tamaqua, including the fine bridge, and pronounced the job a first class one.Last evening, the first coal train, made up of 25 50-ton cars, left Lansford and was delivered at Edgewater, N.J. It was an auspicious opening for the new road and the official party was very enthusiastic about the condition of the road.
