Carbon man facing multiple charges

A Carbon County man is facing multiple motor vehicle code and other charges following a high speed chase in Nesquehoning.

Borough police have charged Bradley Zettlemoyer, 29, of 3 W. Columbus Ave., Nesquehoning, with fleeing or attempting to elude police, reckless driving, careless driving, driving without lights to avoid identification or arrest, traffic control signs, stop signs and yield signs, no passing zones, driving a vehicle at a safe speed, required position and method of turning, turning movements and required signals, and public drunkenness.According to the police report Officer Brian White received a report from a fellow officer that Zettlemoyer had taken the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer of Jennifer Marchorro, on Tuesday, June 11, without her permission.Later that day White, while on patrol, spotted the vehicle in question along SR209 in the area of the Nesquehoning Fire Company. White identified Zettlemoyer as the driver having known him from past encounters.White attempted to stop the vehicle but Zettlemoyer increased his speed despite the emergency lights and siren being activated on White's marked patrol unit. The chase proceeded at high rates of speeds on various streets including Catawissa St., Mermon Avenue, Angelini Avenue, W. Diaz Avenue, Genoa Avenue, and Little Flower. During the course of the chase Zettlemoyer failed to stop for red traffic signals and numerous stop signs, and failed to use turn signals.Zettlemoyer eventually entered Hall Road, which White described as being very uneven with many pot holes. White stopped the pursuit at this point in fear of damaging the patrol car due to the road condition. On June 12 about 4:28 a.m. White was dispatched to 3 W. Columbus Ave., to a report that Zettlemoyer was at the home. Zettlemoyer fled the home but was later located by White along Angelini Avenue and taken into custody without incident.Zettlemoyer was then taken to the borough police station where the charges were prepared and approved by the district attorney's office. Police said Zettlemoyer was arraigned and committed to the county prison.
