The Anthracite Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) will be holding a Car Cruise benefit during the No. 9 Mine and Museum's Old Fashioned Miner's Picnic scheduled for Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Cruise is open to all antique, classic, muscle cars, street rods or special interest vehicles.

Proceeds benefit programs of the Schuylkill Carbon Marine Corps League Detachment 626.The No. 9 Mine, located at 9 Dock St. in Lansford, is the world's oldest continuously operated anthracite coal mine (1855-1972). Tours take the participants safely by train 1600 feet into the mountainside, to see and experience first hand what it was like for our fathers and grandfathers to work underground.For more information concerning the cruise, call Shawn Frederickson at (570) 778-7905.The Anthracite Region AACA currently has over 60 active members.
