A fight at a barber shop in Monroe County has led to the death of one person and another being charged with criminal homicide.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 3 p.m. on May 9 at Stylez Barber Shop, SR196, in Coolbaugh Township.Police were dispatched to the shop for a report of a fight. On arrival officers found Quentin Thomas, 34, of Tobyhanna, seated in a chair in front of the shop conscious.However, his condition quickly detoriated and he went unconscious. He was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, were he was pronounced dead on arrival at 3:40 p.m.Police said witneses on scene initially gave investigators false information. However, police soon discovered one of the persons being interviewed was in fact the suspect in the incident. He was identified as Shawn S. Develvet, 48, of Bumble Bee Way, in Tobyhanna.Police learned that Thomas and Develvet were working together at the barber shop when they got into a verbal argument. The verbal argument escalated to a physical fight. It was also learned that Develvet attempted to clean up the scene before police arrived.Police also said they are aware of an individual who was a customer and was present at the time of the fight. He left prior to the arrival of officers. Police are asking that person to come forward as a witness to the incident.An autopsy was performed at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. As a result the cause and manner of death is still pending as additional medical testing on tissue samples collected at the autopsy and toxicology results.Develvet has been arrested and charged with an open count of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, and false reports to law enforcement.He was arraigned before District Judge Dan Whitesell, of Cresco, and committed to the county prison in Snydersville without bail since he is facing a homicide charge.Assisting Pocono officers in the investigation were state police, the county district attorney's office, and county coroner.
