Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A traffic stop in Monroe County led to drug charges.

Pocono Mountain Regional police stopped a vehicle on Friday, May 3, about 9:53 a.m. along SR940 at the Mount Pocono Plaza for a inspection sticker violation. While speaking with the driver, identified as Maria Colon, 42, of Tobyhanna, officers smelled the odor of brunt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.A further investigation revealed Colon had a small amount of marijuana inside the vehicle. Charges were filed, police said.
