Three Coaldale residents among 23 to enter guilty pleas

Three Coaldale men were among 23 defendants who entered guilty pleas in Schuylkill County court to criminal charges and were sentenced by Judge Jacqueline Russell.

Domingo J. Cepada, 23, , last known address, 231 Fisher Avenue, Apt. 2, pleaded to a charge of delivery of a controlled substance containing five baggies of heroin to a confidential informant for $100 on Phillips Street last May.He was sentenced to serve six to 12 months in the county prison with credit for serving 210 days; pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA) fund, perform 20 hours of community service, and make restitution of $100 to Tamaqua Police Department and $113 to Bethlehem Regional Lab.Ricky R. Burns, 20, of 40 E. Ridge St., possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture methamphetamine in a garage at his home on March 12, 2012, was placed on probation for 23 months, undergo drug and alcohol evaluation, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA fund, and perform 20 hours of community service. Jacoby, with possession of a controlled substance and received a concurrent sentence of 12 months on probation.Edward Eugene Whitehead, 28, of 54 Andreas Road, Andreas, West Penn Township, DUI of alcohol, sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison with the sentence to begin Friday, May 24, at 7 p.m., pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to MCARE fund, a fine of $1,000, $460 to SMC-South, attend safety school, submit to random drug and alcohol screens, perform 20 hours of community service, and driver's license suspended 12 months.
