A father mourning the death of his young son has put his grieving heart to work by organizing the Hunter Wolfe Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, July 15 at Woodstone County Club, Danielsville.

Registration is at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. After the tournament concludes, cocktails will be served at 4 p.m. and the awards and dinner will be at 5 p.m. Even those who do not golf are invited to attend the dinner. Reservations are required.Funds raised at the event will benefit Dream Come True - Blue Ridge Chapter.Tony Wolfe said his son was only 12 years old when he became ill in October 2010. Hunter passed away on July 7, 2011. Hunter was only 16 days away from turning 13 years old when he passed away from leukemia.Because Hunter was an avid golfer, he decided to honor his son's life by organizing a golf tournament and because Hunter was to receive a dream from Dream Come True, he chose to earmark receipts from the golf tournament to help another deserving child.Hunter was too sick to ever realize his dream."I believe each dream costs about $4,000," he said. "I believe that this tournament can raise enough funds to pay for another child's dream."Hunter was a magnetic child who loved to play golf. His dream was to play golf in the Master's tournament or go fishing on the Amazon."When you face the death of your child, it changes who you are," said Tony.The tournament dinner and awards program is also open to the general public."You don't have to be a golfer to enjoy the dinner," said Tony.There will also be a variety of prizes awarded through a silent auction with several vacation prizes to be awarded, all expense paid four day vacation at Myrtle Beach and a free East Coast vacation. Prizes also include a full set of ping irons, ping driver, golf bags, sports memorabilia, tickets to sporting events, and a huge 50/50 raffle.Tony said he knows how important it is for sick children to dream.His son was able to take part in the Eagles Fly for Leukemia Golf Tournament on the last day out of the hospital.
